I want to run HDS 8 Gen2 at the Helm, and HDS 5 or 7 Gen 2 at the bow. In deciding on which set-up/maps to run, I have a couple questions I am hoping you guys can help answer with your experience. I am researching upgrading all the electronics with the new Lowrance Gen2 HDS, with structure scan, and Navionics Platinum map chip. I also have a Pinpoint unit I have mounted on the transom when trolling. I currently have Lowrance X65 at the Helm and bow, and a separate Lowrance GPS unit at the helm.
The electronics on my boat are all 12 years old.
